Basic recipe for minced beef sauce

Ingredients

  • 500gr minced beef
  • 300gr tomato juice / if you use fresh tomato juice, you will need 500gr and SKIP the water ingredient
  • 200gr water
  • 50ml red wine
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp glove powder
  • 1 tsp paprika sweet (or hot if you like)
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • salt, pepper according to your taste

Method

  1. In a pot add olive oil and let it heat very well.
  2. Add the chopped onion and saute with a wooden spoon until it gets a golden brown color.
  3. Add the minced beef split into small pieces with a wooden spoon and saute it.
  4. Αdd the wine stir, and leave for about 3′-4′ until the alcohol evaporates.
  5. Add tomato juice, water, all the spices, stir well and let it boil in a low-medium heat for about 30′-40′.
  6. The minced beef sauce is ready.
Tips:

You can add more or less of the spices according to your taste.

Serve with spaghetti, pasta, or use it for recipes as pastitsio, moussaka
