Classic Greek meatballs

Klasika Ellinika keftadakia

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kgr minced beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 bunch chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2.3 large slices of bread (soaked and well-rigged)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped mint
  • salt, pepper, oregano
  • flour and oil (for frying)

Method

  1. In a bowl add all ingredients [except flour and oil (for frying)] and mix well.
  2. The cover with a cooking film and leave in refrigerator for 30 minutes and then fry them.

  1. Make small round balls of minced meat mixture.
  2. In other bowl add the flour.
  3. When you have ready the keftedakia, add some of them on the bowl with flour and shake them gently so flour covers them.
  4. Heat frying oil in a pan and then place carefully the keftedakia and fry them from all sides until the get golden brown.
  5. Leave them on a kitchen paper to remove the excess oil and serve.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you finish.
Tips:

You can accompany it with fried potatoes and green salad.

You can also skip the steps with flour and frying, and bake them on the oven on a baking sheet. It’s more healthy.
