Greek cabbage with rice (lazy recipe)

Lahanorizo

Lahanorizo is a lazy way to cook Lahanodolmades (Stuffed rolled cabbage).

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage (chopped in small cubes)
  • 300gr minced beef (or pork)
  • 150gr Carolina rice (washed)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 vegetable broth cube
  • hot water
  • salt, pepper

Method

  1. In a pot heat well the olive oil and saute the onion.
  2. Add minced beef and saute.
  3. Add the cabbage, stir well and saute.
  4. Add the rice, stir well, add vegetable broth cube and cover with hot water.
  5. Low the heat, cover the pot and let it boil in low heat for 20′.
  6. Stir occasionally, and add some water if needed.
Tips:

Serve with lemon juice or lemon sauce.
