Homemade Greek soft grape molasses cookies

Greek homemade moustokouloura

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grape molasses
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons cognac
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda (powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Method

  1. Beat in a blender for 1′ all the liquid ingredients.
  2. Sieve all the dry ingredients.
  3. In a large bowl add all dry ingredients and liquid ingredients.
  4. Mix all ingredients gently until it becomes a soft dough (a little more tight than cake dough).
  5. Pour the mixture into a piping bag.
  6. Add a nonstick baking paper into a baking pan and make any shape you want with the piping bag.
  7. If you do not have piping bag, you can add a quantity of dough with a spoon. In this case you should be careful not to make the dough too thick because it might not be cooked in the middle.
  8. Bake at 160oC, in the middle position in oven for 15′-20′ accordingly.
